No Regrets...
No Regrets...

No Regrets...
If you’ve ever sat down in the presence of a wise elder with your ears opened you may have heard them say those two words.
I’m inquisitive by nature so I ask a lot of questions in general but when it comes to sitting down and picking the brains of the long lived I tend to find myself asking one particular question over and over. “What’s the best piece of advice you could give me”?
Usually the answer is somewhere along the lines of, “do your best to try and live your life with very few regrets". The younger me didn't quite understand exactly what that meant, but as the years gracefully flown by, I've come to a sort of understanding on the topic.
Every morning when I open my eyes my goal is to reflect on the following day and ask myself if I have any regrets. Did I do, or not do something that I wish I had, or hadn't? Did I live my day in a way in which I can hold my head high and go about my life? It is my strong belief that we are responsible for our own happiness. If I am unable to look at myself in the mirror at night, I know that I haven’t lived the kind of life that I strive towards. At the end of the day, I believe that it is our individual obligation to do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, to prevent feeling like you’ve come up short.
